This 7th edition of the Marathon San Pio coincides with the 40th anniversary of the climb to the House of Father Padre Pio, the saint of the Gargano last mass celebrated on the evening of September 22, 1968.

The Harbour is made outstanding torch-bearers of the Torch of Lolek, dedicated to John Paul II.
The 1st torchbearer was the TV Amedeo Necarlo the CP of Pozzuoli.
Coast Guard patrol boats have carried the torch from Pozzuoli to Ischia, Wednesday 17 / 9, and from Ischia to Naples Friday 19 / 9 (Feast of San Gennaro)
