le risorse del territorio per il rilancio occupazionale

La Pineta di Castel Fusano is not an amusement park

WWF Roman Coast says no to the proposal to turn the Pinewood Castelfusano in a great camping. La Pineta is an area of \u200b\u200bhigh ecological vulnerability in danger of extinction.

These days we hear in the media of the common will of the majority and opposition, to boost employment in the territory of the XIII Municipio, commitment expressed in the first meeting of the Municipal production activities after the summer break. No doubt that this commonality of purpose on a goal so important to the community is assured. Less reassuring are some announcements on how to reduce unemployment in the area. Particular reference is given to read in the newspapers, to move "from the pine forest of Castel Fusano State Natural Reserve to urban park equipped with organized structures, camping ...."

protected natural areas such as the Roman coast, are areas of special natural interest, or cultural history that contain significant natural species of wild fauna and flora. So, if we concentrated on the tourist for them to increase employment is easy to see that the reserve is the element of attraction for tourists. Who ever would build campsites and accommodation in the excavations of Ostia Antica, the Fori Imperiali or the Colosseum?

La Pineta di Castel Fusano has been included since 1980 (LR 26 June 1980, n. 91) in the regional system of protected areas of the Lazio Region.

In view of its high natural and archaeological interest, the Pinewood was then included, by decree of the Ministry of Environment, 29.3.1996, in the Reserve Natural State "Roman Coast" which includes the extensive coastline that stretches from the sandy dunes Palidoro Capocotta.

protected areas, if well-governed offer the opportunity to experiment with forms of economic and social development compatible with environmental protection and local behavior to create new jobs ( staff visitor centers, park guards, etc. ..). In this case wait for over 13 years that the Municipalities of Rome and Fiumicino enact for the territories of their respective competence. The management plans and implementing regulations, the ' absence of which results in the lack of adequate protection of the Reserve and a continuing loss of opportunities for local communities.

Rolling Back the Pinewood and allow a use which would compromise the natural environment definitely would not recognize and appreciate the importance of our national and international territory.

In this case, the Roman Coast WWF expressed its strong opposition. considered inoperable in terms of legal and extremely dangerous the survival of natural ecosystems. We recall, finally, the Commission and the Municipal XIII to become an active part in the Municipality of Rome (National Manager of the Reserve for our area), to the protected area is actually governed. On this point, the WWF Roman Coast is ready to play its constructive contribution.
