DALLA CARTA DI SIRACUSA ALLA STRATEGIA
NAZIONALE PER LA BIODIVERSITA'
Il Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare, attraverso la Direzione Protezione della Natura e del Mare, ha avviato il percorso che porterà il 20-22 maggio p.v. alla realizzazione della prima Conferenza Nazionale Biodiversity and the subsequent adoption of the National Strategy for Biodiversity, in implementation of Article 6 of the CBD.

In order to achieve the best outcome of the work has been recognized the need to ensure
a multidisciplinary approach involving policy makers, governments, agencies, academia escientifico, economic and social development. Therefore, it is about to launch a broad consultation among the various attoriistituzionali, social and economic stakeholders in order to ensure a shared and participated.
The first stage of the consultation, after the presentation today, April 13, 2010, the draft StrategiaNazionale for Biodiversity by MATTM ai Ministeri, alle Regioni, alle Aree Naturali Protette (ParchiNazionali, Aree Protette Marine, Riserve Naturali Statali), sarà costituita da tre workshop preliminari allaConferenza Nazionale.
L'intento dei workshop, organizzati dalla Direzione Protezione della Natura e del Mare del ATTM, con il supporto del WWF Italia e del Dipartimento di Biologia Vegetale dell'Università degli Studi di Roma "Sapienza", è raccogliere le valutazioni, le osservazioni e i contributi in merito alla Strategia Nazionale per la Biodiversità, per focalizzare obiettivi specifici utili al conseguimento dei tre obiettivi strategici. I workshop si svolgeranno nel corso di un'unica giornata, indicativamente tra le 9.30 e le 18.00, e avranno luogo a Firenze giovedì 29 aprile, a Padova giovedì 6 maggio ed a Napoli giovedì 13 maggio.
Ogni workshop vedrà avvicendarsi tre relazioni principali sui temi della biodiversità in relazione ai servizi ecosistemici, cambiamenti climatici e politiche economiche, i tre grandi temi individuati dalla Carta di Siracusa sulla Biodiversità del G8 dello scorso anno. Seguiranno interventi programmati a cura dei rappresentanti dei diversi attori istituzionali, sociali ed economici, oltre a circa 10 interventi programmati ci sarà spazio per discutere i temi della Carta di Siracusa e fornire informazioni su esperienze realizzate a scala regionale e locale.
Con la realizzazione del primo workshop, il 29 aprile, sarà operativo sul WEB un sito dedicato al percorso di avvicinamento alla Conferenza Nazionale per la Biodiversità, con un Forum interattivo che consentirà a tutti i soggetti interessati di inviare contributi, commenti ed osservazioni alla bozza della Strategia Nazionale per la Biodiversità.

Proseguono anche nel mese di aprile le visite guidate per scoprire il Monumento Naturale ed Oasi WWF di Pian Sant’Angelo. L’area protetta, istituita nel 2000, si estende su 254 ettari nei Comuni di Corchiano e Gallese, in provincia di Viterbo. Il 2010 è il decennale dell’istituzione del Monumento Naturale, tempo per tutti di discover the nature and history.
